One year prior to the alien attack

"Venture, Englund. My home city, the city I credit responsible for my celebrity status. The countless times I have saved it from various crimials, mad scientist, supervillains, and quirky suprvillain squads. Now theres an appreciatin day in my honor. Imagine my excitement when I found that out. So I return to my old stomping grounds and what awaited for me wasn't smomething I was expecting

"Hello" Lightspeed called out, the city is completly deserted. Lightsped blitzed around the area with no effort, it's a complete ghost town"So much or hoping ths is some kind of planned surprise." Another theory dawned on him then he shook his head"No if it were a Kaiju attack I would have known about it. Also there are no police around"

He also sees the moniter on a building flash letters that reads"Have fun And good luck. You'll need it "

"Alrighty" Lightspeed blitzed over to a subway where the wind from earlier came from

Underground Subway

Lightspeed tried to contact his agent who was arranging Lightspeed Appreciation Day but he couldn't get any signal from his cell phone or even the emergency comm

He'd see a bright light come out of the dark subway

no, two lights, and a row of teeth. He'd hear a roar, along with someone saying "WATCH OUT!" as the thing moved at mach 5 towards Lightspeed

In a scene that felt like time went to a slow crawl Lightspeed ran alongside the tunnel walls ran uip the left side to the top of the wall as the monster barely got him"Too slow" he says to the monster as it went by then ran back down

"To the only soul left in this place. Thank you very much. Did you catch the number of that thing that tried to eat me?"

"Lightspeed huh? The title denotes a posthuman ability to move at superluminal speed, most impressive. "I am from a time that has come and gone, with that creature there having escaped me. I was the only member of my race left when I awoke, and saw that I was left with the task of keeping guard of things like that. Unfortunately, something in the world above caused it to break loose. It being a damaweevil or in your language-Conqueror Worm. It is but a baby though, so it's not at full strength, thankfully" Adan said, standing up straight and touching the V on his chest, making it glow. "The thing is still underground, but watns to hit the surface quick!"

Adan would nod and Lightspeed would see a purple glowing jet bike form under the man. "Away we goooo!" he'd say,t aking offa fter the creature

Lightspeed snatched a pipe while running after the monster he whacked it to its head to get its attention"Remember me ugly" he ranned around it then way ahead of then monster as he provides a destraction for his partner to spring the trap

"TOSS YOUR WEAPON INTO IT"S LEFT EYE!" he'd shout, pullign the beast back

Lightspees smiled and bid his allie farewell(Same to you mate)

Lightspeed speed out of the subway and back into the city, he sees dark clouds already forming in the sky and it flashed in a bright light. "Congratulations Lightspeed, that was quite a warm up you had there"

He looked up and instead of clouds he see a image of a woman looking down at him in the sky, above the city.



"A simple welcome home would be nice. What are you some kind of alien?" Lightspeed asked

She laughed and responded"I've been called that in my lifetime, and worse. If it makes things any better the citizens of this city and some of your friends visiting are alive and well."

"Good. Now would you be so kind as to let them go or tell me where they are"Lightspeed said

"Of course. Depending if you pass the trials that I've set for you. If you pass each one then a clue shall be provided to you concerning the location of the ones you're looking for and I hear that you're the kind of guy that would take any challenge given to him" She said

"What if I just contact someone to help me out"Lightspeed said

"I've taken precautions to eliminate any form of contact. Including mental ones, also anykind of assistance from here on out pose a risk of endangering the ones you're trying to save" She responded

"Just you know, I'll find you once this is done"Lightspeed said

"Counting on it. And good luck." She said then vanished
