Our story picks up in an office building that has been occupied by a super villain and his men to force the CEO to give them a prototype of a new technology they had been developing. While they had taken the building without problem, backup had arrived in the form of Burning Shadow, a pair of superheroes. Burning Man the pyrokinetic and Phantom Shadow, the invisible woman.

The fire user had drawn the guards attention with his powers while the invisible woman went on ahead, using stealth to pick off the criminals inside.
The pair were currently making their way to the upper levels.
Snyder, Rick and Bob were closet to the door. The elevators were out so the heroes had to take the stairs. Upon hearing about the heroes arrival, Rick had grabbed a mop and had located the fire extinguisher.
Snyder cursed. "Bastards must have just taken out another level. Out of all the capes to run into, why is it these two psychos?"
"Cool your jets Snyder." Bob said. "Rick, tell me you have a plan!"
Rick broke the glass with the butt of his rifle and hauled out the fire extinguisher.
"That's your plan?"
"Part of it, yeah. Look, we have the door blocked right? Phantom Shadow isn't strong enough to break it down on her own. That means the fireman's going to have to do it. He's a showoff, so there will be a big explosion." Rick explained. "With any luck, that will cause the sprinkler system to kick in, spraying down water everywhere. He comes in, he'll be weakened, even if it's only slightly. She comes in, the water will be spraying everywhere, we shoot at her outline." Rick explained.
"And what if they don't come on?" Snyder asked.
Rick smiled and pulled out his lighter and held it to the mop. "We light this up and hold it up to the ceiling. Water comes down, we go back to the plan."
"Genius man."
"Thanks, I try."
"I know you do."
Suddenly the three were struck from behind by something a crowbar before they could react to the new voice, sending them crashing to the ground. The rest of the criminals fired in their direction.
"HEY! HEY!" Rick yelled at them. The doors were hit by a blast then, blasting the doors through the air and over the trio's heads to hit more thugs. As they freaked out and tried to get to cover more of them were taken out an invisible figure.
"What the hell? What...the...HELL?!" Snyder yelled.
Rick recovered and hid behind a cubicle and looked around. He saw it then. The air vents. He had forgotten about the air vents. Rick cursed his stupidity and banged his head against the cubicle wall.
Fire balls were tossed around the room, knocking out the thugs and sending them flying. Rick just tried to keep his head down as he clutched the extinguisher to his chest.
"Do you have a backup plan?" Bob asked.
"WORKING ON IT!"

"WORKING ON IT!"
Rick's head was throbbing. He was bleeding from where he got hit earlier. He tried to ignore it and considered his options. (No way to know where the phantom is. The fire man is right at the door. One thing at a time.) "Bob! Snyder! Draw his fire!"
"Are you insane?"
"It's our only shot to bring him down. I can get him but I need an opening."
Bob and Snyder considred it before nodding. "You owe us big time man."
"I know."
The two nodded and ran for it, screaming like madmen as they shot at the superhero. He did a combat roll to avoid the bullets and came up shooting, blasting fire balls at the henchmen that exploded close to them, sending them flying into a wall and knocking them out. He stood up and dusted his hands off but out of the corner of his eye he saw Rick rushing him as fast as he could. Burning Man turned and launched fireballs at him but Rick went into a slide, just barely passing underneath them, wincing at the incredible heat and just praying he didn't get fried from this. He passed under them safely however and got in front of him and let loose with the extinguisher, spraying the foam all over Burning Man. He yelled and fell back, freezing cold and weakened for the moment. Rick stood up and continued spraying him as he advanced on the Burning Man and then kicked him in his chest, knocking him against the railing. Smiling, sprayed him in the face and then whacked him with the empty extinguisher, flooring the hero. "That was for Snyder." Rick kicked him in the stomach. "That was for Bob!" Rick raised the extinguisher over his head and then screamed in pain as he was tazered and thrown to the side. "And that's for touching my man." Shadow said. Rick lay in pain on the ground. He tried to get up but was hit by the crowbar and blacked out.
"-up. Come on dirtbag! Get up!" Rick opened his eyes as the police officer dragged him to his feet. He felt the cool metal of the cuffs around his wrists. It didn't take him long to figure out that if the cops were here, that meant they had lost again.
As he was lead outside, he saw Snyder and Bob being lead away by the police. The two heroes were laughing and chatting with the reporters. Burning Man had some tears on his costume along with visible bruises from where Rick had hit him with the extinguisher. Shadow looked unharmed. Rick and Burning Man's eyes met for a moment and the glare the hero gave him was the thing of nightmares for lesser criminals.
Given that his hands were tied and he was in rather bad shape, Rick did the only thing he could. He laughed. They had lost, sure, but he made damn sure that hero would remember this day. A victory if he'd ever had one.
"Laugh it up psycho boy, you're going away for a long time."
"What's so funny?" Snyder asked.
"I got in a few good licks before going down. That's what."
"You're crazy man." Bob shook his head.
"You say that like it's a bad thing." Rick smiled.
"Soooo......got a plan to get out?"
".....I'll get back to you on that."

As the officers drove the vehicle, Rick to to work, quietly staring down at his hands until he managed to slip out of them. He held up the cuffs to the others. (Okay, that's part one, now onto part two.)
"That's weird."
"What?"
"I...don't think this is the way to the prison. We took a few different turns."
Rick stared at Snyder. (Probably just traffic, but...) Rick got to work on the cuffs around his feet as the prison car kept right on going, getting farther away from the prison.
Eventually, Rick got one foot free, then the other. Just then the transport started going over bumpy and rocky roads. "O.K. this is NOT good." Snyder said. "Just keep calm for right now." Rick told him. "What are you gonna do?"
"What I do best: Improvise." Rick said as he slipped the handcuffs back on a little bit.
The transport finally came to a stop in the middle of a forest. The guards got out and one of them opened the back door, both had guns ready. "Get the hell out of there dirtbags. NOW!"
The prisoners obeyed, Rick getting ready.
"You know why you're all out here? It's because you're all repeat criminals. You ain't never going to learn nothing! Unless somebody makes you!"
"So we're going for a little hike! And you're going to walk until we get bored. Then we'll put you animals down!"
The first guard fired into the air. "And if anybody gives us any lip, we'll plug you and everybody else! NOW MARCH!" The prisoners marched through the forest. There were two guards, one several feet in front of the prisoners and one several feet behind. Rick was farthest back and the closest to him. They hadn't realized his leg cuffs were off. Good. He could get him, but he would need a distraction. As they marched, Rick glanced at Bob in the back of his chain. There was silent communication between them and Bob smiled. He suddenly broke into a run and slammed his body against the prisoner in front of him, causing him to fall into the next guy and the gang fell over. There were laughs from the other. The guard in front turned and raised his gun as the guard at the back ran over and started yelling at them to stand up. Seizing this chance, Rick slipped out of his handcuffs again, and rushed the guard, catching both of them off guard as he grabbed the guard and spun him around to use as a shield, swiping the keys and gun from him and then kicking the guard down. Rick dodged to the side as he fired on the front guard. Bullets whizzed by both of them but Rick got a good shot in, right between his eyes. The guard fell to the ground, dead. He then shot the second guard in the head as well. Finally, Rick tossed the keys to the prisoners who quickly got uncuffed.
"Holy s-t......I cannot believe that actually worked."

They drove to the warehouse Rick and Bob took off their hats and opened up the back of the vehicle, letting the prisoners out just as several armed thugs walked out. "Easy guys. We're criminals." Rick assured them.
"The f-k? That Jones?"
"The hell are you doing dressed as a cop?"
"Killed the guards, took their uniforms, took their stuff, took their car." Rick explained quickly.
The other prisoners walked up. "He's telling the truth."
"So what are you doing here?"
"I just freed 12 prisoners single-handily and I'm sure your boss could always use more manpower."
"Alright....let 'em in!" The guards hit the switch to let them in and dozens more watched them from all angles as they were lead inside to the boss.
