In the universe that contains Earth-295, the planet below is desolate and ruined. The area we are currently looking at is the moon, the Blue Area to be exact. A figure touches down, a long, white cape floating down, with blue spandex adorned by a white V on his chest. His face etched into a frown as he looks around, then speeds out into the distance, spotting a figure. He looks up at it, then quickly kneels on the ground, fist touching the earth, head looking down.
"Rise, Lord of all Kherans, I beckon you to" a booming, grim, guttural voice. The voice belonged to a man in a blue military uniform, shoulder pads, with blue boots that had a single yellow stripe, and yellow gloves. His skin was rock like and purple, red energy emanating from his eyes. The Lord of all Kherans rose, standing in front of this man, who's feet floated inches off the ground. "Now, status report?"
"The Grey woman and Sinistron are working to track the current pattern the Exiles have established, and Professor Kang has managed to procure several of the items necessary for the plan"
"Hmm, so they have started up again? I suppose one last futile battle will suffice before they are snuffed out, with everything else. As for you?"
"I cleared out this planet for you, and the M'kraan crystal is being checked over by Ms. Grey as we speak" he'd say, looking up at the man. He hated this, the little head games this man would play, and would love to do nothing more than destroy him. He could not though, and that made him fume internally, made worse by the fact that the man he hated so much was smiling in his face now.
"Good, you all have done good, but do not slacken! The next device to be procured is an Ultimate Nullifier from Earth-232. Ms. Grey and Sinistron will have the coordinates to give to Professor Kang".
"And what will Starbrand and I do?"
"You two will keep vigil in this reality until I command you to do otherwise. You have done well, Kheran, and this pleases me. I will now leave to commune with our....'benefactor'" he would say, floating up into the air, then disappearing. As soon as the man left, the Lord of all Kherans would ball his right hand up into a fist, the sheer frustration he felt causing it to shake before he prepared to slam it down on the ground beneath him, stopping inches away to only make another crater on the surface. As soon as he rose up from this act, a yellow portal would pop up with four individuals coming through.
I thought you were done with these displays of impotent rage, Lord Vegeta? I do know of other ways you can release that aggression by the way a sultry voice that sounded like a siren from Greek mythology, beautiful yet deadly as it rang through his head. The voice belonged to the woman in the group. She had hair red as blood, eyes green as the grass in the amazon, and wore a long red royal gown with a phoenix emblem as a crest.
Do not bring forth such suggestions when you know the nature of our work, mindwitch! he'd mentally snarl, which caused her to giggle a bit. To her left was a man in a green business suit and slacks, a white button up suit shirt and brown shoes. He had grey temples with ragged brown hair, and a haggard look in his eyes, with his right hand carrying a brand in the form of a star that emanated the same energy as the yellow portal. The person to her right wore a costume that resembled a mesh of the flash and Kang the Conqueror, purple and green with a purple thunderbolt insignia on their chest, carrying a large laser cannon with them. Behind the three was a large, hulking piece of machinery, silver body with two red gems, one in the abdomen, one in the forehead and two yellow eyes, with blue-black spikes arching out of it's back, it's expression unreadable.
"Well, what does he want of us Lord Vegeta?" Ms. Grey would ask.
"You and Sinistron are to continue your work tracking the Exiles pickup patterns, while Starbrand and I are to keep vigil over this Earth. Professor Kang is to procure an Ultimate Nullifier from Earth-232, which Sinistron should have data on"
"Earth-232, home of the deceased Dark Rider, a world where Reed Richards failed to save Earth because of his own scientific curiosity overtaking him when he stepped aboard Taa II, the ship of Galactus. Transmitting the coordinates to Professor Kang's uniform now" it would say, the voice dry and barely emotive
"And I am transferring the image of the Ultimate Nullifier into your brain, seeing as you have never seen one before" Ms. Grey would add, a bit haughty. A second later, Professor Kang disappeared from sight, and a portal was closed.
Starbrand would follow Lord Vegeta into the sky, prepared to take vigil while Ms. Grey and Sinistron moved towards The Watcher's old lab to continue their work.
In the Crystal Palace, four voices gathered around to talk.
"We're up against some pretty powerful people, so it's only natural we'd fight fire with fire"
"But remember the last time we had some big guns with us?"
"Yes but that was with the Timebroker and someone else pulling the strings. Plus this team might have the right elements to combat the nightmares we've seen traversing the multiverse, especially if my idea on what they're doing is right"
"Either way, I think we've got a good group assembled"
"I hope you'd think that, considering they're our-no THE last line of defense we'll have in this instance"
"Well, we've always had the odds stacked against us, and we've always come out on top, so it's easy to reason that it'll happen again, right?"

Mariah Flores hit the ground. Hard. A thud would be heard as she dropped into a lush green meadow, face first. Moments ago she had been in a heated battle, frozen in the air staring at the man who was her husband. She sat in the grass for a second, inhaling. She hadn't smelled fresh grass in years, it was nice, having that back. When she finally stood, she noticed a strange object on her wrist, with a gem that shone. Her skin was grey, with two black lines down her eyes, and orange battle armor on her body. She looked around, then squinted her eyes. The meadow seemed to be endless. "HEEELLOOOOO? ANYBODY OUT THERE?" she'd shout, looking to see if she was alone here.
