The next time Vincent woke up, he was in a hospital bed and feeling like hell. He had bandages on his face and on his chest and stomach. It took Vincent a few moments to process where he was. There was also an IV feed in his arm and machines monitoring his vitals. He took them out and tried to get up but fell over. He reached out and grabbed onto a machine. It shut down as the electricity in the machine flowed into his body. Vincent felt his strength returning and he stood up straight and walked out of his hospital room.

Vincent glanced around and saw doctors and nurses walking around. A nurse ran up to him. "Sir? Sir! Sir you shouldn't be out of bed, you need to rest!"
"What am I doing here? Where's my dad?!" Vincent asked and grabbed the nurse's shoulders, accidentially giving her a static jolt. She jumped. "Wha? What?"
"I-I don't know...I-IIII..."
"Vincent!" His dad ran up and Vincent turned and hugged him. "DAD! What happened to me? Why am I here?"
"There....was a gang attack son. You got hurt and were sent here when somebody called the police."
"I....was...hurt..." Suddenly all the memories of that day rushed back to him. Vincent backed up and put a hand on his chest. "I.....dad....I-I...I was hurt...I was stabbed and-and-and...."
"I know, I know son." His father fought the tears in his eyes. "But the doctor's fixed you up, you're fine now." Norman helped his son back to his room. On the way, Vincent's hand touched a light switch and the light's flickered in the hospital.

After a few days of recovery, Vincent was allowed to leave. They escorted him out in a wheelchair and his dad and the nurse helped him into the car. "How are you feeling?" Norman asked.
"Starved." Vincent smiled.
"Come on then, let's get some food." Norman drove him to a restaurant and they got a seat and Vincent got himself a burger and some fries and a soda. The two caught up on what he'd been missing while in the hospital. There was some work he'd missed in school obviously and Randy and several other students had sent him get well soon cards. Norman had been working long hours in the office but visited him whenever possible. As a result of his extra work, he'd gotten a couple days off to spend with his son. Vincent grinned.
After eating up, paying the tip and leaving, Vincent arrived home. "Whoooo! Home sweet home!" He cheered and the lights flickered. "....."
Norman tried the lights, they worked just fine. "Huh. Well anyway, glad you're home son."
"Right, thanks dad. I'm gonna take a nap and then I'll go catch up on my work."
Norman hugged his son and Vincent patted his dad on the back and then ran to his room.

Vincent collapsed on his bed. "Ohhhh man, what a day." He stared up at the ceiling fan as the light's flickered. "...Wait..."
It took him a minute to realize it. Back then.....at the hospital...and the light switch...the lights flickering when he got home...the doctors...the doctors mentioned he was struck by lightning or something. Vincent sat up straight. "No way...but there's only one way to be sure." He raised his hands up and stared at it. He could sense it. He could sense the electricity in the fan, making it turn. He could sense the electricity in the bulbs, lighting them up. He turned his head to the alarm clock on his dresser. He could sense it, all of the electricity flowing into it from the plug in the wall. Vincent got up out of bed and pressed his face against the wall. It was more than just sensing it...he could...feel it. It was all around. He stared at the walls and then turned his head as he felt his dad turn on the TV in the living room. The electricity was flowing into it through the plugged in cords. Walking to his window and pulling apart the curtains, he looked around outside and saw the street lamps. It took him a moment, but he could feel it within them too. It was....amazing. It was everywhere and he could feel it. In his house, in his room, outside, in the neighboring houses...it felt.....wonderful. Stepping back, Vincent raised up his hand and called out to it. He called out to the electricity in the ceiling fan's lightbulbs to come to him. To come to his hand and flow into his body. It took a few seconds but then he saw it. He saw the lights turn off as the electricity became visible and shot through the air and went into his hand. Vincent was freaked out at first but then he felt the power. He remembered this from the hospital, when he touched the machine and he felt the electricity get absorbed into his body. It made him stronger then.....it did the same now. Vincent stood up straighter, stood tall. He kept this up until there was nothing left to take and the bulbs burnt out. Vincent then turned and gestured to the TV. After a few seconds, the screen flashed on. Vincent stared at his hands. "This, this is amazing."

Glen View High School.
Vincent walked into the door and saw various students cheering for him. A few hot girls walked up to him, asking him if he was alright, how many guys he really fought, what really happened, all that stuff.
Vincent smiled. "Come sit with me and Rick at lunch and I'll tell you all about it." He grinned.
He talked with students as he walked to class and bumped fists with Rick.
Oh yes, things were looking up.
Admin wrote:After a fun day at school, Rick talked to Vincent out behind the bleachers.
"Vince....you're my friend, but we need to talk."
Admin wrote:For the next few weeks, Vincent spent his time training by splitting his time between researching electricity through books and through the internet, and honing his powers; learning to shape and manipulate the electricity around him. He discovered that he could use electricity to enhance his muscles, making him faster and stronger. Vincent used this to his advantage and started exercising and working out much more often. Because a simple surge of electricity was all it took to recharge him, he could exercise for much longer than the average person and he quickly began putting on muscle over the weeks of training.

With the usage of static electricity, he could stick to walls.
By shooting out lightning from his hands and feet, he discovered he could fly around, but that lead to him crashing, so for now he decided to ride the electric board: A surfboard made of electricity. It was easier to control.
After further training, Vincent created some new attacks: Electric weapons, electric blasts, electric arcs, an electric forcefield and a massive discharge: A dome shaped burst of energy all around himself. Though...Vincent ended up regretting that one. It drained him completely, leaving him sweating and exhausted, barely able to move.
Vincent had to drain the electricity in his and Rick's cell phones just to be able to get up. This meant that draining himself was not something he wanted to do if it left him in that kind of condition.
And of course, using his powers in and around water was right out.
Although...in his readings, Vincent ran into the idea of electrolysis: separating compounds into their original state. He made a note to figure out how to do that.
He also worked on developing a costume alongside Rick.
And once everything was ready, he posed on top of a building and called Rick to meet him using his electrical communication technique to call Rick's cell phone by generating an electronic transmission.
Rick climbed up using a fire escape and looked around for him.
"Hey man."
Rick looked up to see his friend floating down to the roof, covered in electricity. "Oh man.....that is f-ing BADASS!"
"Damn straight I am! For I am....THUNDER FLASH!"

"Got a big one! This is gonna be awesome." Thunder Flash said and made the lightning surfboard, hopped on and raced through the city on it.
Just as the pair were about to blast the transport, they heard the crackling of electricity above them. Looking up, they saw a Superhero riding a surfboard that had electricity shooting off of it looking down on them. "We can do this one of two ways: I can kick your a$$es all over the place or you can be smart and surrender. It's your call."
