"And if they did we'd wreck their shi....I mean we'd beat them away" Mariah would say, blushing as she realized that she almost cursed in front of Ace's parents

"I know you could guys. But you shouldn't underestimate these Statesmen. Just a small group of them wrecked us. And that big guy...anyway, we would need more than the school to bring them down. Maybe we could request a hand from Fastlane's team."

"Well still man, you just got out of the hospital. If you get messed up, you know who will kick your ass after this" Derrick told his friend while floating into the air, only to have Mariah leap past them.
 
"Hurry up!" she'd tell Derrick, disappearing into the horizon and landing in Ascension City, cushioning her fall into a junkyard. Derrick waved and flew off after Mariah. "Fastlane should be patrolling right about now or something, right?" he'd ask her, to which she'd nod

As if in response, something zipped past them and into a building and then ran back out, crossed the city, came back, ran past them again and then a few seconds later, they heard somebody sit down on a bench. "Cool costumes, aren't you two from Exodus?" Fastlane asked.

As Mariah and Derrick followed Fastlane, Nemo would turn to face the rest of the gang, hitting a switch ont he wall to open the door for the incoming heroes.

"So gang, you're about to have your first team up, with a few students from Halworth Academy, Derrick Terrace and Mariah Flores" he'd say as they came inside with Fastlane

"I don't know if I should be worried or relieved you know our names" Derrick stated

"Eh, relieved, 'sides, you two got records, you're in the system and were there long before you even signed up for the school. From what Fastlane mentioned, you guys are dealing with some specialists, and i'm talking top flight. However, their usual M.O. isn't so focused on one area" Nemo would say, sitting down, plotting

"York is...he's like a walking sonic gun. I've seen him fight before and he was a machine, completely tearing through everyone he got his hands on and sending out sonic waves at the ones he didn't, which crushed them anyway. I...tried to fight him when he ran into me...it didn't last very long. I'm still not sure why he didn't kill me but I at least got a name. Everything else I've heard about them is just rumors really."

"He didn't kill you cause he's a professional i'm guessing. Guy probably figured you weren't someone he had to kill and just left" Derrick/Inferno would say

"Either that or he didn't think you were someone he felt like killing......sorry, that sounds a bit harsh" Mariah would say

"Well you kids got one thing right, he's a professional. He's not going to needlessly kill someone like Valkyrie. However, this means that he's very skilled. The Statesmen have been the type of group to have back up plans and always plot out strategies on who they engage long before they do. It's why they've been around so long"
